## Usage

| Subcommand | Options                           | Permission | Description                                                 |
| ---------- | --------------------------------- | ---------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| `about` | None | Public | Shows current verification configuration (channel and role) |
| `channel`  | `channel` (TextChannel, required) | Admin      | Set the verification channel                                |
| `role`     | `role` (Role, required)           | Admin      | Set the role given to verified members                      |

### Example

```
/verification channel channel: #verify-here
```

```
/verification role role: @Verified
```

## How Verification Works

Once both a verification channel and role are configured, SecurityBot automatically posts a verification embed in the channel:

* **Title:** "Verification"
* **Description:** Instructions to click the "Verify Me" button
* **Button:** "Verify Me" (primary style)

When a member clicks "Verify Me", they are presented with a captcha modal. Completing the captcha correctly grants them the configured verification role.

## Subcommand Details

### `/verification channel`

Sets the channel where the verification embed is posted. SecurityBot validates that it has MESSAGE\_SEND permission in the channel. If both channel and role are already configured, the verification embed is posted automatically.

### `/verification role`

Sets the role assigned to members who complete verification. SecurityBot validates that it can assign the role (role hierarchy check) and that the role is not managed by an integration. If both channel and role are already configured, the verification embed is posted automatically.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://securitybot.gitbook.io/securitybot-knowledge-hub/command-reference/verification.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
