Setup SecurityBot

Quickly secure your Discord server with SecurityBot's comprehensive protection.

Setting up SecurityBot is straightforward. This quick-start guide will help you get your community protected in just a few minutes.

Quick Start Guide

1. Invite SecurityBot to your Discord server

Visit our official support server to find two invite links:

  • With Administrator Permissions: Grants full functionality, including channel locks.

  • Without Administrator Permissions: Requires additional setup; some features may be limited.

2. Setup the SecurityBot Role

Navigate to Server Settings → Roles and move the SecurityBot role to the top of the list.

Why? Discord's role hierarchy determines permission levels. Placing SecurityBot at the top ensures it can effectively manage members and enforce protections.

3. Grant Access to Private Channels

If your server has any private channels, you must make sure to add the SecurityBot role to all of them.

Why? Without access, SecurityBot cannot monitor or act within these channels, leaving potential vulnerabilities.

4. Run the SecurityBot Setup Wizard

Use the /setup command in any channel where SecurityBot is present to launch the interactive setup wizard.

This step-by-step tool will guide you through essential configuration tasks, including:

  • Verifying the bot’s permissions and role placement

  • Setting your moderator and admin roles

  • Enabling and adjusting core SecurityBot features

Once initiated, the setup wizard will send a private message (visible only to you) with clear instructions and helpful links to relevant documentation.

Tip: Run this command after completing Steps 1–3 to confirm your server is ready for full protection.

5. Configure SecurityBot Logs

Create or designate a channel for SecurityBot to post activity logs.

  • To set the log channel, use the command:

/settings logs [channel]

Tip: This channel should be visible only to your staff to maintain security and confidentiality.

6. Manage Address, ADA Handle and Name Filters

By default, SecurityBot blocks all Cardano (ADA), Ethereum (EVM), and Bitcoin (BTC) addresses, as well as ADA Handles.

  • To allow specific addresses or handles:

/allow_address [address]
/allow_handle [ADA handle]

Additionally, to prevent impersonation:

  • Block specific nicknames:

/block_nick [nickname]
  • View all blocked or allowed entries:

/view_all [option]

Congratulations! Your server is now protected by SecurityBot. Explore more advanced features and configurations in the Bot Guide.
